Sharon Reiner, LCSW

As an EMDR therapist, I believe you are already fully equipped to heal and find well-being beyond what you can currently imagine. My role is to help you uncover and access those innate qualities.

I am a licensed clinical social worker (Lic # 76310) practicing psychotherapy since 2013. I specialize in EMDR and have expertise in trauma, grief, abuse and domestic violence. I have trained and presented to professionals at a variety of institutions including Children's Hospital of Los Angeles, Cedars Sinai Medical Center, and USC Graduate School of Social Work; I have also been a featured speaker on Southern California KPCC radio.

I take a positive, experiential approach to psychotherapy. By creating a joyful, collaborative environment, my clients get “unstuck,” begin to see new choices and find freedom in their day-to-day being.

I use a variety of practices beyond talking and insight to find a place of ease where  clients can begin to see movement and new choices. Along with EMDR, I use TF-CBT, CBT, mindfulness, the arts, or out-of-the-box strategies to help clients find flexibility and fluidity in how they experience their lives. As an individual therapist, I work with clients including teens through the spectrum of adulthood and later life.

For the last 15 years, I have been participating in character-building groups, an essential component of personal growth. For me, letting our values guide our behavior brings meaning and the capacity for integration. I am also a lifelong participant in the performing arts.

I can help if you…

  • Are looking to build better coping skills in response to loss and grief, improve relationships, increase your inner strength and resilience, and bounce back from setbacks with greater ease and confidence.

  • Are struggling after a traumatic/overwhelming experience, including child abuse or neglect, sexual abuse, domestic abuse, incest.

  • Live with complex relationships, social difficulties, anxiety, panic attacks, phobias, grief, or struggles as a caregiver.

It is an honor and a pleasure to join my clients in their work towards wellness.
